Very quick service. Went to pickup a telehandler and by the time I walked out to my truck to set up my low boy trailer to load they were already bringing it out.
Pros
Friendly environment people are great, open about things happening in the company
Cons
Pay, start you really low and make it hard to receive raises. Managers know very little about work that’s actually being done
Very quick and efficient in getting my equipment unloaded In-N-Out, thank you Matt for helping me and being polite.
Pros
The Company is growing and that creates opportunities for growth and promotion.
Cons
Growth can be painful so there are some uncertainties.
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you are doing. Regular feedback and one on one conversations are what helps ease stress about the uncertain areas of growth.
This review is long overdue. I was just making sure I had this number available in my phone in case we run into another problem in North Carolina when we head south in a few weeks.. Last year in mid January we lost throttle response at a rest area in our Tiffin Phaeton RV with a CAT engine. We were towed to this facility around 3:00 pm on a Friday afternoon and they had us back on the road by 5: 00pm. Many thanks to the professionalism of there entire crew.
I’ve been fortunate enough to purchase 3 pieces of equipment from Gregory Poole so far. Equipment has been stellar and service when things are down has been world class. Rudy Hernandez has gone the extra mile for me consistently for years now. I will continue to look here first for my equipment needs.
These guys are good at what they do. Had a wiring harness issue with my cat powered Vermeer’s stump grinder. They did an outstanding job. Ryan and Robert are topnotch
Hydraulic pump shop is unmatched. I made the mistake of going somewhere else before bringing my pump here. These guys were more than helpful and friendly. Went out of their way to help me find a solution for my problem even when it didn’t benefit them. This is how businesses should be run. I won’t go anywhere else.
Pros
The company truly cares about its employees, and it’s a fun place to work
Cons
Long hours with a very early start time
Pros
Good team atmosphere and average pay.
Cons
Lack of growth opportunities and career advancement.
We can’t thank Gregory Poole enough for their generosity and support! As a nonprofit, we often rely on the kindness of our communityand they went above and beyond by loaning us a forklift completely free of charge when we needed it most. Their team was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find a company that not only provides top-notch service but also gives back in such a meaningful way. Highly recommended!
Judy, Ryan and the team at Greggory Poole did an awesome job at taking care of my class A motorhome coach. I was on a long trip and started having some issues and they called me with a cancelation and got me in the same day. They kept me aware of the work that was needed and was very knowledgeable in finding out the problem i was having. They also found some items during a service maintenance i requested of them and addressed those issues as well. I was able to get back on the road in a timely manner with a huge peace of mind that all the work was completed by a highly professional team at Greggory Poole! Thanks to Judy, Ryan and the rest of the folks that took care of my needs. I don’t live in the area but will make the drive for any future maintenance or issues that i may face in the future because when you are traveling very long distances with precious cargo onboard, you want to have the trust, confidence and knowledgeable people working on it!
Marshall my rental representative has helped me with the right machine that I needed to get the job done! More than happy with the service and I will continue to use in the future!
Pros
Lots of work and overtime

Working to rent a mini excavator from Gregory Poole for one day was a good experience. The equipment was nearly new and worked perfectly. The professionals at Gregory Poole were all outstanding men and woman. I only need this kind of rental every 5 years or so, I am not any kind of expert, yet I was not made to feel unqualified, they were confident in me and that helps.I needed to dig a 100 Ft long 3 ft deep French/curtain Drain in my yard to solve a septic issue, (ground water sliding under the grass to my leach field after heavy rains). It was sandy soil, until we reached the clay. The roots we found near the woods however needed to be chainsawed. Everything was wrapped up in a 24 hr rental. Thanks for the use of your equipment. I look forward to next time.
If Austin keeps selling us equipment and Cas keeps servicing them we will be GP customers forever. Two fantastic young men!

Good ole boy system

Cons
-Was a lot of time on your feet each day, trucks coming in non-stop during the summer. -It will rain on you some days!

Advice to Management

Pros
Great place to work as it has work and life balance. People are nice to work with. Management do care about their employees.
Cons
Little slow on adoption of new technologies.
Fantastic customer service, whether you are buying a large machine or just a few repair parts they treat you right.
The nicest and most helpful people that I have seen. I had only a serial number for my excavator and yet every part that I wanted was in my hands and I was gone in thirty minutes.
Brought my 2011 Tiffin 42′ Diesel Pusher in for service. Very professional operation, friendly folks, and work done in a timely fashion. I would recommend them highly.
I couldn’t be more impressed with Gregory Poole in Garner. My RV wouldn’t start and I had a tripped planned for the next week. They were incredibly busy but fit me in. My warranty company was a little difficult to work with but they worked through it and made the repairs faster than I expected. Judy and John were a pleasure to work with! The facility is clean and inviting which is much different than other repair shops that I am familiar with. This is the second time that I have used them and their service was consistent both times. If you need RV repairs and don’t want your RV sitting in a dirt lot until someone can eventually get to it, this has to be your place!
Just a good bunch of guys. Have done business with these folks for 14 years. They can fix stuff. Been well pleased.
I am thankful for Jon Hobson’s help ordering a part for our forklift and for Mike Simpson’s help getting me in touch. Thank you!
I have used them for a number of years, they are not cheap but you get what you pay for and they stand behind their work
Pros
Benefits, Great Management and owner,
Cons
Stagnant Pay, workload varies, dealing with turnover
Pros
Flexibility to move to other department
Great employees to work with
Ability for a long term career with the company
Cons
Pay is not in line with the industries
Advice to Management
They need to focus more on the front line employees, that work directly with the customers, which will improve the customer’s experience, ultimately increasing sales and profitability
Pros
Good people, enjoyable work environment
Cons
Not easy to move up with out knowing people or previous training
Advice to Management
Give employees a chance in different positions other than just the apprentice program
Greg Poole understands what customer service entails. The staff is friendly, courteous and very professional. Gzve them a parts search had what I needed in a jiffy. Fir parts and service go see Greg Poole. Get what you need without delay
Pros
Good employer, very caring about the staff, good pension
Cons
salary under market level, hope they can improve
Pros
Flexible work schedules, after eight hours worked.
Safety importance for all.
Cons
opinions are not taken into consideration
Advice to Management
Take real time to truly listen to your employees.
It is definitely better than a lot of heavy equipment shops in the area. They actually have a decent amount of shop tooling. Biggest down fall is that the pay is only okay. They do offer decent benefits but they are not worth nearly what the office people think they are. Also the cost of living is sky rocketing around here. If you need help there is a lot of older techs that are very knowledgeable.
This is a truly fantastic facility. And everyone there is extremely customer service oriented. This is a top-notch RV & Truck Repair Center in addition to all of the other Caterpillar and Bluebird products they sell in service there.
Pros
Great people, sound management. Lots of opportunity.
Cons
Time off, very busy. Can’t work 7 days a week.
Advice to Management
I know we gotta make money while the sun is shinning, but let folks use vacation.
Pros
Reputable company that cares about their customers and tries to do the right thing
Cons
Challenging location, changing workforce, customer needs / expectations
Pros
The atmosphere here is great. I haven’t been able to find another company that truly cares for each of its employees the way that Gregory Poole does. The management is also easy to work with, and your boss always wants you to do your best and be your best. The people that work here are some of the best coworkers that you can have. It truly is like one big family, and you will love coming to work every day.
Cons
The biggest cons here is the lack of pay and the lack of innovation. It is known company-wide, even by recruiters, that you will make less here than somewhere else. This also leads to the lack of innovation and outside influence on the company culture, which is just as big of a con as pay is.
Quick and profession repairs on our motor home. Not inexpensive, but who is? I’ll take top quality repairs over inferior repairs anytime! They have a nice customer lounge too!
I have to be one of the most picky people out there when it comes to my Bluebird RV! I brought my bluebird Wanderlodge M380 in for suspension service and let me tell you these guys are excellent! Rod the service manager gave me an estimate prior to any work being done to my coach, which he completely stuck to. My coach, rides as smooth as glass now! To say I’m happy is a understatement, I will always recommend this shop. Thanks Rod for all your help and service!Dan
I am so glad I started taking my 1996 Beaver Patriot to Gregory Poole in Raleigh. Rod and James both provide excellent service and kept me apprised of anything I should do to keep my coach in A1 condition!
I’m a Hotshot truck driver and I came by to pick up cat steer skid to California and Gray Coltrain as a supervisor of rental and sales department did outstanding customer service job plus he showed amazing people skills, I was impressed by his professionalism thank you Gray, God bless your heart!
Anyting I need for my caterpillar in the shop or parts they the got it or they get it and friendly people thanks Gregory Poole appreciate your business
Pros
They take care of you if you need time off for family reasons. You can work remotely if your job permits that. If you need extra time off for lunch no problems, come in late because of appointments, usually no problems. It’s very family oriented and ran by the 3rd generation now.
Cons
Sometimes the parking can be something else because there’ s limited space & they hold training classes there 1 week a month. Then the state fair comes there every year so usually you don’t leave during the day because you will loose your parking spot then!!
More than happy thank you guys, I been looking for long time …Jeff Floyd and Mister Scoot thank you.
I love this place. Customer service is always excellent and the employees that work there are very professional. Definitely better than their local competition hands down.
Good place to work and good benefits. Everybody works together snd get along good. You learn something new everyday. The hardest part of the job is picking up heavy items. Pros: Family oriented Cons: None.
Pros
Good co-workers and mgt. The work schedule is great with Monday – Friday work weeks on most job titles. Start times vary depending on job titles as well.
Cons
Poor software system thats very cumbersome and slow. Some of the older Mgt team have been there too long and not very willing to help when situations arise. Some people need to retire and let others take the lead so the company could be more productive.
Pros
Awesome place to work. We are all like family here
Cons
There are no cons that I can think of
Advice to Management
Keep up the good work
Pros
Very nice staff and people respect the work and the environment and Management really take care of their staff.
Cons
None at this point of time.
Pros
Well Balanced, Financially Sound as well as challenging
Cons
Weak leadership and direction, lots of finger pointing and butt covering
Advice to Management
leadership needs to learn about accepting responsibility and engaging their workers more
Pros
Family company-style activities and benefits. Working here was a positive experience. Learning from others and team organization were the pros. Good people.
Cons
Economic downturn created seemingly constant change within the company. Changes always seemed around the corner as far as personnel swaps. Down economy equals less machines.
Very competent, professional and helpful staff. Used their mobile service when RV wouldn’t start (after no success w local diesel mechanic) and the Poole mechanic quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Also used Poole for significant repair work in their shop (replace muffler and tail pipe, repair cooling system) and again their staff was helpful, informative and highly professional. The repairs did take longer than I’d expected as it was their busy season, but I’ll use them again anytime the RV needs work or service that I’m not comfortable doing myself.
great company great work ethics plenty of advancement opportunities always lots to do great management team always lookiong out for there employees Pros: cook outs, great pay, recognition of job well done Cons: warehouse is very hot or cold…thats anywhere you go though
Pros
Co-Workers are exceptional, Great Family atmosphere. Core Company Values are centered around Family, Integrity and Customer Service.
Cons
Restricted size, which limits personal growth within the Company. Can feel disconnected at times with Upper Management.
Drive too shop get work schedule,go out on the job fix the machine,Write out a work order.Had good coworkers.Driving many miles too the job was brobley the hardest. The best part was having good coworkers to help out. Pros: Having good working coworkers Cons: Having to drive sometimes so far.
enjoyed working at the place. Enjoyed working with the customers and the same with the employees; Pros: free school Cons: healthcare
Pros
The company is very stable and strong. It is a good place to work with a nice work atmosphere and friendly people. Management sees the big picture and allows you to work withing their parameters without undue pressure to perform.
Cons
Third generation family ownership has kept salaries a bit low and limited top end earnings. Upward mobility is somewhat limited as it is a relatively flat organizational structure.
Advice to Management
Do not change salesforce compensation plans every year making it difficult to repeat previous earnings. Motivate employees with incentives.
