Pros
Reputable company that cares about their customers and tries to do the right thing
Cons
Challenging location, changing workforce, customer needs / expectations
Pros
The atmosphere here is great. I haven't been able to find another company that truly cares for each of its employees the way that Gregory Poole does. The management is also easy to work with, and your boss always wants you to do your best and be your best. The people that work here are some of the best coworkers that you can have. It truly is like one big family, and you will love coming to work every day.
Cons
The biggest cons here is the lack of pay and the lack of innovation. It is known company-wide, even by recruiters, that you will make less here than somewhere else. This also leads to the lack of innovation and outside influence on the company culture, which is just as big of a con as pay is.
I'm a Hotshot truck driver and I came by to pick up cat steer skid to California and Gray Coltrain as a supervisor of rental and sales department did outstanding customer service job plus he showed amazing people skills, I was impressed by his professionalism thank you Gray, God bless your heart!
Pros
They take care of you if you need time off for family reasons. You can work remotely if your job permits that. If you need extra time off for lunch no problems, come in late because of appointments, usually no problems. It's very family oriented and ran by the 3rd generation now.
Cons
Sometimes the parking can be something else because there' s limited space & they hold training classes there 1 week a month. Then the state fair comes there every year so usually you don't leave during the day because you will loose your parking spot then!!
Pros
Good co-workers and mgt. The work schedule is great with Monday - Friday work weeks on most job titles. Start times vary depending on job titles as well.
Cons
Poor software system thats very cumbersome and slow. Some of the older Mgt team have been there too long and not very willing to help when situations arise. Some people need to retire and let others take the lead so the company could be more productive.
Pros
Awesome place to work. We are all like family here
Cons
There are no cons that I can think of
Advice to Management
Keep up the good work
Pros
Very nice staff and people respect the work and the environment and Management really take care of their staff.
Cons
None at this point of time.
Pros
Well Balanced, Financially Sound as well as challenging
Cons
Weak leadership and direction, lots of finger pointing and butt covering
Advice to Management
leadership needs to learn about accepting responsibility and engaging their workers more
Pros
Family company-style activities and benefits. Working here was a positive experience. Learning from others and team organization were the pros. Good people.
Cons
Economic downturn created seemingly constant change within the company. Changes always seemed around the corner as far as personnel swaps. Down economy equals less machines.
Pros
Co-Workers are exceptional, Great Family atmosphere. Core Company Values are centered around Family, Integrity and Customer Service.
Cons
Restricted size, which limits personal growth within the Company. Can feel disconnected at times with Upper Management.
Pros
The company is very stable and strong. It is a good place to work with a nice work atmosphere and friendly people. Management sees the big picture and allows you to work withing their parameters without undue pressure to perform.
Cons
Third generation family ownership has kept salaries a bit low and limited top end earnings. Upward mobility is somewhat limited as it is a relatively flat organizational structure.
Advice to Management
Do not change salesforce compensation plans every year making it difficult to repeat previous earnings. Motivate employees with incentives.
