Caterpillar Inc. and Gregory Poole Equipment Company to fund and build Habitat home in Southeast Raleigh
The companies’ first whole-house sponsorship will provide $65,000 and volunteer labor

RALEIGH (Sept. 4, 2018) – Long-time Habitat Wake partners Caterpillar Inc. and Gregory Poole Equipment Company will fund and build a Habitat home this fall — their first Platinum Hammer sponsorship. The two companies’ $65,000 donation covers the cost of materials, and their employees
will provide the volunteer labor necessary to construct the home.

Construction kicks off on Friday, September 7 with a wall build: Caterpillar and Gregory Poole Equipment Company executives and employees will build all the walls of the home at the Habitat Wake construction facility and raise those walls on site later the same day. At 12pm on the build site,
Tony Fassino, Vice President of Building Construction Products Division at Caterpillar Inc ., will present the sponsorship check to Kevin Campbell, Habitat Wake President/CEO.

The home, which is located at 832 Grove Creek Lane in the Crosstowne neighborhood of Southeast Raleigh, will be finished in 10 weeks, with Caterpillar Inc. and Gregory Poole volunteers coming out weekly to build.

“Habitat Wake is grateful for Caterpillar’s and Gregory Poole Equipment Company’s generous investment in our work,” said Campbell. “By providing a whole-house sponsorship, the company is
demonstrating a commitment to creating affordable housing opportunities in our community. The home will provide security, financial stability, and personal growth opportunities for the family who buys it.”

Both companies have partnered with Habitat Wake on various projects and builds over the last 10 years, but this is the first time either has participated in a whole-house sponsorship.
