Cat C18 Auxiliary/Generator Set Engine (IMO II)

Back to Home

C18 auxiliary/generator set engines incorporate a separate circuit aftercooling system (SCAC) for all configurations. The primary advantage of the SCAC systsem is reduced aftercooler corrosion since no sea water circulates through the aftercooler. Many other improvements on these engines also contribute to minimizing owning and operating costs. The IMO II compliant ratings are available with heat exchanger or keel cooled options. All major MCS type approvals are available from the factory.

Dalton was very helpful, The road construction, however, was not! 😂I would rather have to sand paper an alligators @$$ in a phone booth that to get in that mess again.

I purchased a used C-15 from a customer of Greg Pool was a running take out. I picked up the engine from the Greg Pool Cat near Nags Head NC. They started they had done all service on this engine stated the hours and all items replaced during the life of engine under their care. I just recently put the engine in my boat after 2 years of building the vessel I find that everything they said about the engine was a LIE!!! Turbo was Bad, After cooler was not updated to the newer version for the C-15 it was missing a terminal Resistor that was clearly stolen off the engine which created a major issue with start up upon installation. Greg Pool Caterpillar stated the hours at 3300 we find out there were 5700 hours. I didn’t do a start up or test run which I regret because i was dealing with a Caterpillar dealer i thought i could trust them. Clearly not Buyers Be Ware if your dealing with Greg Pool Caterpillar in NC. I have 3 of the C-15 engines in my Work boats here in Tampa Fl and my Cat dealership here is Ring power who have done an amazing job to get me going with this Engine. I am very Disappointed in The Caterpillar company for allowing such A dealership to exist.
