Repair Determination Inspections Have you ever been in the situation where your machine is down, you are not sure what the extent of the failure is, and you are trying to figure out the best plan of action? Gregory Poole can help provide guidance through repair determination inspections.
Repair determination inspections is a process where our technicians disassemble the component or system to a point to determine the extent of the necessary repair for minimal cost. At that point, our service personnel and Product Support Representatives will provide you with solutions that best suit your specific needs.
Technical Analysis Inspections Keeping your machine operating at peak performance and efficiency is critical for maintaining a profitable business. Over time, performance and efficiency of the machine diminishes and that has detrimental effects on production and ultimately profits.
- Technical Analysis is a set of procedures and tests that we can run on all the machine systems to determine how your machine compares to new machine specifications.
- When we perform a Technical Analysis Inspection, our service technicians make checks on all your machine's systems such as engine, transmission and torque converter, hydraulic, electrical and cooling systems.
- In addition, they thoroughly inspect the machine for general condition, such as the blade or bucket, undercarriage and safety equipment. Recommendations are made for any corrections that are needed to bring your machine back to Caterpillar specifications.
- Contact your Product Support Representative to inquire about the specifics of a Technical Analysis for your machine.

Repair Options Did you know that over 80% of repairs made to machines are after-failure? After-failure repairs are the most expensive repairs that are performed on machines or machine components. In after-failure repairs, major castings are normally damaged and require refurbishing or replacing and these are the most costly items. Being pro-active and planning repairs through repair options can effectively eliminate the after-failure situation. Gregory Poole offers a wide variety of repair options tailored to fit your specific needs, increase uptime, eliminate over repair and lower costs. From rebearing and resealing of a component to before-failure repair and exchange components, Gregory Poole's Product Support Representatives can provide you with repair options and solutions.
Rebuild Options The durability built into Cat® equipment offers the option of rebuilding a machine to "like new" condition at significant savings. Programs vary by machine size, but are generally available in the following classifications:
- Cat Certified Rebuild (specific models only) - Complete machine disassembly and assembly, all new updates / upgrades to current specifications. A new serial number is issued for the machine and the machine is covered by new warranties and extended service coverage is available.
- Gregory Poole Rebuild (all machines qualify) - Complete machine disassembly and assembly, reusing most parts that pass Caterpillar reusability guidelines. All machine systems are refurbished and the machine carries warranty like new and extended service coverage is available.
- Gregory Poole Component Rebuild (all machines qualify) - Removal, overhaul and installation of engine and all power train and hydraulics are performed. Typically electrical and sheet metal repairs are excluded. Extended warranties are available for the machine.
- Gregory Poole Power Train Rebuild (all machines qualify) - Removal, overhaul and installation of engine and all drive train components, including clutch / torque converter, transmission and differential / final drives. Extended warranties are available.
All machine rebuild options are quoted after a thorough inspection is conducted and fluid analysis is performed. |
