- Complete disassembly of the entire machine
- Mainframe section is sandblasted and inspected for cracks and other damage
- Cracks are repaired and wear areas are built up to current specifications
- All pin and shaft bores are inspected and repaired to meet Cat specifications
Powertrain
The engine is rebuilt using Cat parts reusability standards. In some cases, a new Cat engine may be available as an added option. The engine is dyno tested and adjusted to Cat specifications. The remaining complete powertrain, including the torque converter, transmission, steering clutches and final drives, is completely disassembled and inspected, then rebuilt and updated to Cat's current specifications and standards using new, Cat exchange or qualified reusable parts. After reassembly, they are hydraulically bench tested before reinstallation in the machine.
Hydraulics
All hydraulic pumps, cylinders and valves are disassembled, inspected and rebuilt utilizing Cat's current specifications and standards with new, Cat exchange or qualified reusable parts. All hydraulic hoses and seals are replaced with new. The hydraulic linkage is reconditioned.
Electrical
All electrical wiring harnesses are replaced. The alternator and starter are rebuilt. Batteries are replaced.
Cab
The operator's compartment is totally rebuilt to ensure operator comfort. All gauges, wires and critical safety-related parts such as lights, rod ends and warning devices are replaced with new. Glass and molding are replaced as required.
Warranty
Upon completion, the rebuild will be warranted by Gregory Poole for a period of six (6) months from the date the equipment is returned to the customer.
Extended Powertrain Option
At the expiration of the six (6) month period, the equipment's powertrain will be covered by the Powertrain Warranty for a period of twenty-four (24) months or until the equipment has been operated for 5,000 hours (both measured from the date the equipment is returned to the customer), whichever occurs first.
General
Genuine Cat parts are used throughout the rebuild. Critical wear parts like bearings, those that deteriorate with age (i.e., seals, hoses, wiring harnesses and belts), as well as those that fail to meet rigid reusability guidelines are replaced with new parts. All parts and components are inspected and, if necessary, restored to current Cat specifications. If a part cannot be restored to current specifications, it is replaced with new.
Quality control standards are followed at each step of the rebuild process. After component reassembly, they are individually tested before reinstallation into the machine. All tolerances, torques, pressure settings and clearances are checked to ensure they meet Cat's current specifications.
All essential product updates are built into the machine rebuild. These include safety-related items, as well as product updates which will restore the machine to its original performance standards.
The Bottom Line
With total performance restored, your Cat equipment is ready to return to a "new" machine assignment. You can be assured a complete Rebuild will provide like-new performance and durability, at a cost far below that of a brand new machine.
