Caterpillar will be introducing their new Zeus Pod Drive System powered by the Caterpillar C9 ACERT at this year's Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. Caterpillar and ZF Marine have joined forces to produce the newest and most state of the art POD system available in today's marine propulsion industry. The Zeus POD Drive System is being powered by a CAT C9 ACERT at 575 bhp. The new Zeus POD Drive System powered by CAT will allow boat owners to realize a level of maneuverability they have never before experienced.

The joystick control allows you to dock the boat with ease, even in the most challenging situations. Caterpillar has installed this system into a 44' Sea Ray for customer demonstrations and will be available for sea trials at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. This vessel reaches top speeds of 39 knots. with the CAT powered Zeus POD Drive System compared to 33 knots. with a competitor's engine. The Zeus POD Drive System powered by CAT will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2009.
